Basingstoke B 14, Salisbury 6

Salisbury arrived with just 6 players, so Basingstoke lent Sailsbury a few team members, but as they say, you should never look a gift horse in the mouth. The Basingstoke team started strongly and stormed into the first quarter like a herd of elephants, gaining the lions share of the goals. It looked like Salisbury's goose was cooked as Matthew, Rob, Mick, Spencer, Will and Ben all added their names to the score sheet, bringing the tally of goals to 7-1 at the end of the quarter.

At the start of the 2nd quarter, the wise old owls of polo were subbed out to make way for the young pups. This unleashed a can of worms onto Salisbury and they were like sitting ducks as the juniors pounced. 4 more goals were scored and the juniors were like the cat who's got the cream. Salisbury startled by this change of team seemed to stop like a rabbit caught in the headlights and Basingstoke continued to stretch the lead to 11

In the 3rd quarter the worm turned and a restructured Salisbury with Geoff in goal, made Basingstoke look like a bunch of bird brains, as the glory hunting vultures circled the Salisbury goal, at the other end Salisbury out foxed Basingstoke and scored 2 much needed goals. It was time for Basingstoke to stop monkey-ing around and get back to defend. The quarter ended 14-4.

The last quarter was atrocious, with Basingstoke a fish out of water. The whole team played like a dogs dinner. This allowed Salisbury to add another 2 goals to their tally and left them grinning like Cheshire cats. Basingstoke on the other hand were acting rather sheepish, scoring no goals in the last quarter. Final score 14-

Man of the match: Pavel for some great goal-keeping
