The Bluefins u15 team got off to a winning start at Salisbury. Playing with a near full strength team Bluefins quickly went a goal up through Matthew Hodgkin shot left the Salisbury keeper stranded. With a strong Bluefins defence led by Natasha Stone and keeper Richard Fry, Salisbury were unable to get back into the game and 2 more Bluefins goals from Alex Millar and Matthew Girle allowed Bluefins to end the first quarter 3-0 up. As the Bluefins team swapped around Salisbury started to attack more but found Fry in goal in good form aided by Stone and Luke Butler in defence they couldn’t score. A break away goal by Millar and a long range effort from Will Blakeley put Bluefins 5-0 up at half time. Bluefins started the third quarter full of attacking confidence with Josh Lay tackling the Salisbury keeper knocking the ball from his hands into the back of the net this was followed up by another Alex Millar goal to get his hat trick. Going into the final quarter 7-0 up the Bluefins side didn’t relax and a Matthew Girle goal followed up by another from Lay completed the scoring they even had the luxury of missing penalty gain from a Laura Deacon swim through. to complete a 9-0 win with a very solid team performance.
